MOT Testing
We’ve been a fully accredited MOT test centre in Reading since 2004. At PR Motors, an MOT for any car is £45 with a FREE retest. We also offer a local collect and deliver service.

We can MOT all Class 4, 5 and 7 vehicles on the premises; ie all cars, commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and minibuses.
What is an MOT Test?
An MOT test is an annual requirement for all cars 3 years after the date of first registration in the UK. It is illegal not to have one when required. Not having a valid MOT could also invalidate your insurance. You are, however, allowed to drive your car to a pre-booked MOT.
An MOT is designed to ensure your vehicle is safe to be on the road. It includes, amongst many other things, checks of the seat belts, suspension components, emissions, brakes, and your lights. If you are unclear on what the test covers and would like to know, please just ask us!

What if my car fails?
If your vehicle fails its MOT, we will discuss each failure item with you. We will provide you with a fixed quote upfront and an accurate timeline for how long the work will take as soon as the MOT is complete. We usually have the car repaired on the same day.
What are advisory items?
These are items that, whilst not bad enough to fail the vehicle, are something the tester wishes to bring to your attention. Again, we will discuss these fully with you and provide cost and time quotes where appropriate.
